Really, what are you gonna do with that old piece? These days it seems like anything but learn to climb. I know of a couple guys that run smaller trucks and don't climb-I cant see how you can compete like that, I got a 55-60 rear mount just so I too would have a shot at some front yard gravy trees, but it seems all the real money is in big backyard/no access trees, I don't see how I could survive without being able to climb. I get beat out by lowballers on bucket trees. Forestry package skyworker 45-50, ha!

hey hey hey a little compitition never killed no one believe me owning and upkeeping a relic like this does not give me the ability to under bid anyone as a matter of fact i have a list of "cheap" tree services for customers that complain about my pricing

I smell hacker in the air, lol :monkey:

LMFAO!! Im with you there! If the Maintenance is so costly on these dinosaurs why not get something of better quality? Especially if your not pricing low! Equipment like this is what causes accidents another guy on here asked about parts for an old asplundh bucket.......WHY?

If the companies outta biz or MFG says to put it out of service....theres a reason!!! dont be a stat. in the TCIA Mag.

LXT..........

Exactly.

You should see the old relics in our back yard (all retired scrap rigs)

I was at an old aerial truck junk yard in California once and saw brand names I had never heard of. I remember one was skyworker and I have since seen other lifts with that name. Another was readylift. Old man there told me readylift made units from 1958 or so till about 1963.

It's amazing some of the older, and even some newer units that are only produced for a few years, then go belly up or get bought out. We have customers up here that still use some of these relics that should be cut up at best. We still see Servilifts, Pico, Skyworkers, McCabe Powers and the like. Some of these guys that own these lifts are so scared of them they won't go over center with them or will tie the booms to a tree while they work in case something breaks! Usually we won't even touch these old bones due to the fact you can't get parts for them. Most of the skyworkers we still work on we have to make parts, or do whole retro-fits to updated systems. Fun stuff!
