Hello,

I've got an old Whisper Chipper (JEY series) with an inline Ford 6cyl gas motor. The alternator has gone out and, of course, the model number has long faded away. The alternator is a Motorola brand. The system is 12v.

Anyone have a chipper like this one that has the Motorola alternator on it that could supply a model number?

Anyone have an a different alternator that you have used to replace the old Motorola and you know will work?

Thanks

Why don't you have the old one rebuilt? Or take it to a good auto parts store and match up a replacement.

already tried to get it matched - no success... might have to do the rebuild, there's just no one local that does these... local parts guy says he could match it if he had a number

If you have a NAPA auto parts nearby, they will send it to be rebuilt if they can't match it up.
