HI , new to the site. We own a small landscaping/tree service business. We own a 1994 Morbark wood chipper. 110 4 cylinder Cummins diesel. 12". When we engage the clutch the top roller will spin , but when we feed it wood and the top roller comes "under pressure" it fails to spin and bottom roller still rolls fine. Looked for leaks , are none. Any tips? Could we have blown the hydro motor?

Any help would be great!

Word, I'll leave it for a bit, see if the guys have a quick answer, then move it down there.
I have Morbarks. You might have blown a seal in the little pump, probably a Eaton. They are pretty easy to find, used on multiple different types of equipment and they are not to pricey either, think about 80 bucks.

Del, you talking about where the roller mounts on the pump? Those splines?, guess it would have to be huh! Wow, never thought about that happening, is that fixable or do you have to replace it no matter what?

A friend of mine has an old morbark, problem is exactly like what you are seeing, bad keyway.
