Back last winter my uncles old 266 bit the dust and I done a complete tear down and rebuild with a new tecomec 268 cylinder.I still havent found a decent replacement carburetor for it or the throttle link to adapt everything over from the 266 to 268.the original tillitson is worn completely out.anyone have a spare tillotson or if a walbro is available that would be even better.hes on me to get it done.he has to go in to the va next month for knee re placement surgery

Nope sure don't.I'm not too familiar with what parts will interchange.I would rather have a walbro if one will fit.Possibly 272xp or something like that.If I'm stuck with a Tillotson I guess thats what it will be.I'll do some searching and see what I can come up with.

Yes and the return spring is shot among other things.Yes I like tillotsons but never have any luck rebuilding them.Have better luck out of Walbro's and some Zama's.

I rebuilt two Tillotsons with kits from Weedeaterman recently, no problems. Ancient tillys on two Stihl TS400's, I started with three old carbs, and wound up with three runners. No high setting though, rev limited coils.

I used Tecomec topends, and Watson's Chinese cranks, bearings, seals and gaskets. Both saws run nice.

I've rebuilt many dozens of Tillotsons on the older husky's (series 65/77, 2100, 288, 266 and others) and hundreds of different Walbros & Zamas on all sorts of different OPE. All other things being equal, I would pick a Tillotson over a Walbro and a Walbro over a Zama.

That being said, each brand has produced a finicky carb or two ...........or more.

I do remember there being Tillotson carbs for the Husqvarna 2100cd that were made in Ireland and others that were made in the US (Toledo, Ohio I think). I had a couple of loggers that would only put the Ireland carbs on their saws.
