I have been unable to ID fungus/mold? on bradford pear. I have noticed same condition on norway maples and american elms. What can it be?View attachment 201698
Is that patch of bark dead? Based on that one picture, it looks like it is. You should be able to confirm pretty easily - if the bark comes off and is browning under that area, it is dead. If that is the case, the fungus is simply showing up to start decaying dead material. It is unlikely the same fungus seen there caused the dead spot.
The cambium is not dead under these patches. It seems to be attacking the bark only. No weeping as slime flux woukd cause. These patches are dry. New pictures attachedView attachment 203353View attachment 203354
