I've always run 50 gauge bar and chain. use a rim sprocket for felling & bucking and a spur for milling on my 660.
Getting a 42" bar from bailey's. In this length, 63 is the only gauge I can get unless I want to go with a much more expensive bar (I can't afford to).
I'll be getting a couple loops 63 gauge chain ... ripping and standard - the woodland pro, which I've heard is a good chain.
My questions is this - am I OK using the same rim sprocket for my 50 gauge chain as for my 63? I imagine on the spur sprocket it doesn't matter ... but I don't know - does it?
Thanks.
