I went to my aunt's house today to cut a Norway over the front corner. She is a recent widow since June 08'. The neighbor comes home and before he gets to his driveway " what are doing with the wood?" I told him I'm taking it away. My cousin had filled his p/u with smaller dia. pieces. My buddy says why don't you give that guy some wood. ( I think he didn't want to load the dump truck) Ok, I tell the guy he can have what is left (3/4 cord), I'll cut it all up and 1/2 the big rounds. Great !!! Told him to rake also. (10' x 20' area) I know how most of you guys feel about some one else on the job sight, but this guy has been their neighbor for 30 years. I start to clean up the gear and the neighbor is leaving his house, rolls down the truck window and says " I see you got all the good stuff " and leaves.:buttkick: There is a nice mix on the lawn. I saw red, I think this guy was serious. The p/u was loaded when I talked to him. If it wasn't my families house I would have taken all of it. I can't believe some people. This was at 1:00 and I'm still twisted. The gesture was in hopes that he might help my aunt out once in awhile. Some times you just cant win. :dizzy:

I dont get it. Same deal a few weeks ago. People talking about how they'll take any firewood we can possibly give them, the more the better.

Well, we took down a sugar maple with a butt log probably a little over 4 feet in diameter, had a few guys stop by the site to see how much of the log they wanted, and no one would take it! They all #####ed out and said it was too big for them.

Apparently everyone just wants those nice little 8" diameter pieces you split down the middle once and call it good.

Beggers sure are choosers!

I'm with you Dan!! sometimes it just doesn't pay. But the times do come by and don't let some idiot make you a jerk. To treat everybody like $hit is wrong. It better to tell the guy right to his face when it happens what you think of him. This way you go home with it off your chest and the guy is thinking of what you had said. "Some People's Kids"

Hey...you get ####ed for being a nice guy...

We were working at a country club and I notice a big "y" piece on the ground from a tree that uprooted the year before and we cleaned up...except the firewood....so we were doing our deal with the course and I told one of my guys to get the big piece with the loader and put it on the truck with the other stuff....

The super comes over and asks if I was stealing his firewood...I thought what a dum b fu ck er and told him I would be glad to dump it if he wanted it and that I thought I was doing him and the c.c. a favor by loading it...they do not have a loader tractor.

I usually ask them where I can dump it as I am getting paid to remove it.

If I am looking to get rid of the wood close by.

Then you are somewhat covered.

Ok, Ok, Ok... F some of them

I dumped a load at someone house by request, I tell them the whole deal before hand, when I got back to the office the message said I had to come get it cause its not what they wanted.
I used to cut it into firewood logs now it just gets loaded as big as possible. I only dump at places I know the people to be thankful and competent. I never picked up any load I ever dumped for anybody and its free although the people I dump wood for give me bottle, cigars, a little cash or tree work.

Now that F everbody is actually a song I sometimes here on the local rock stations in the morning. Its done by some black guy and its really funny. Anybody ever here it?
It starts off he is calmly complaining about his girl, his job, and everything else then all the sudden he gets to the chorus and goes nuts screaming " F evrybody" like James Brown. In fact, it just might be James Brown singing it.

Raymond the Amish comic sang that song at Penns Landing in the Poconos. Check you-tube, He said he was going to post everyone singing it.

PS
that idiot better pick up that wood, his driveway is sloped steep to his garage.

This is precisely why I own an 066 with a 28" bar for firewood cutting, so I can get the stuff the fellows with the 16" MS290s just look at and walk away from. I'm eventually getting a 36 for it just to make occasions like you describe easier on me.
