I was hauling logs this morning when I got a call from home saying that a Arboristsite member by the name of Glen was looking for me.B-lined home to met glens about Dolmars 7900,mine was not here so we went to the Dolmar dealer.And got the lowdown over beer. Came back to my place, timed glens 066 & 036 in the 10x10 cant (very impressed). lots-o-beers talking and demoing square chisel filing. Seth

Yeah, it was a good time!  There had been no rain to speak of for over a month but wouldn't you know it had to be spitting all day.  It didn't dampen our spirits, though the sound of the rain on the metal roof, even though muted, might have caused the dam to burst sooner and oftener.  Seth has got a great little clubhouse situated in a beautiful part of the world, that's for sure.  I'd guess there's almost enough room for a Clearwater Central but I don't know how the local constabulary would feel about it...

You did a pretty good job posting that, Seth, as intoxicated as you had to have still been at the time.  I went south through Musk-o-day and avoided all that US-14 crap east of you.

The pictures of that black ash burl posted the other day hardly begin to represent the beauty of the stuff.  That tree sure got confused about something.

Thank you, Seth, for taking me to the Dolmar dealer, for showing me some very fine equipment and your skill with the square file, and for the great hospitality!

Glen, glad to here you made it home.Good company and cold beer.Next time I will lay off the sauce and have some dechromed teeth so we can get into some serious corners.The Vallorbe double bevel that I was using is good for woods chain but hopefully I can get my paws on some more Oberg 150 files. Maybe I will have my 7900 back or a brand new one. Seth
