I just got my new slabbing bar in today and it's quite a bit heavier than I antisipated.
I can't imagine running something like this all day bucking or felling.

I've got the parts in order to build my oiler. With any luck they'll get here today.

Zack, when I was in my teens and 20's working for my Dad, I used a Homelite Super 1050 with a 24 inch bar as my on the ground trimming saw. The other ground men would grab a saw and stick it in the dirt and dull it. Then as soon as some one set their sharp saw down, they would grab that one and dull it up. No one ever grabbed my 1050, so it was always sharp, Joe.

Sounds kinda like when I take my McCulloch 200 out with me. No one ever asks to "grab it real quick to cut something"

I recognize that setup - I've got one myself. Its an MS880.

I like to run about 1/3 transmission oil in my bar oil. It's a trick I learned about in "Chainsaw Lumbermaking" - it thins out the bar oil and seems to make it soak in to the DL better.
