Those look like the ultra stiff pads that I have, steel insert in the leather... They seem like they'd be alot more comfortable than the previous velcro versions, if you buy some SoM ship them up to me so I can have a demo day!:givebeer:

It looks like a combo of the ultra stiff and the velcro's. My ultra stiff's are great and my only complaint is the amount of time it takes to strap them on. Looks like they fixed that issue with this model.

How is the Velcro holding up with use on the pads?

I having a hard time thinking that Velcro will be safe over time. Velcro products get worn and loose grip over time. Dont want to have to carry a roll of duct-tape, to keep the ends from pealing up.

Was leaning towards Ulta Stiff Wrap Pads.

Been on velco the last 6 years, and the pads wear out before the velco stops working.

I had a set and the pads did wear out quick. Velcro was fine for the 1-2 years I used them. Kinda heavy and bulky. I personally would not buy another set.

Nope, can't say that I've tried them but that climber is not going for with two right feet... :D

Lmao!:agree2:
Theres a company on here Blue Ridge Arbor Supply that has a pair called CCP pads. lil expensive but they are very nice and light and tough.
