Hi. I was checking out Husky's international web site and came upon a new model that is not on the U.S. Husqvarna's site. It is a 390XP. 88cc,5.4 cu.inch,4.8 kw/6.5 hp, 13000 RPM, 15.7 lbs.(powerhead only).

Click on Forestry Care, then click on chainsaws, then chainsaws again.

Kinda curious. A slightly overgrown 385, it would seem, not quite sure what the point is, though. A whopping 3cc increase? Hard to imagine that the development and tooling cost is worth it. There must be more to the story...

Maybe some of our overseas folks could shed some light on this saw.

sounds like a non epa version in 55mm bore of our 54mm epa 385.....

Just another saw that isn't made here....

It shares the user manual with the 385xp, just 1 mm bigger bore.

Maybe it is an attemt to outperform the PS 7900, but I don't think it helps much, as it is a lot heavier...... :bang:

....or a counter attack after Stihl introduced the MS650 ?:bang:
But that doesn't make much sence either, as I don't believe the 650 is very popular.

I must say that I am disappointed, I thought the new about 90 cc Husky would be based on the 575xp, but with more power to justify the high weight of that design.
