Any advise would be appreciated as I am torn between the Tree Motion and the Petzl Navaho or Sequoia as a replacement for my Whillans.

I have used Petzl mountaineering harnesses for around 10 years now and have been extremely impressed with their quality and comfort. However I have also heard a lot of good things about the Tree Motion. All seem to fit my requirements well and are reasonable prices... in the US at least.

Have you seen weaver's new Cougar saddle? I'm thinking about trying one out since it's only $230.

That saddle seems very familiar to the Sherrill Tree saddle im climbing on, except instead of a rope bridge there is just a regular strap with multiple attachment points, and the saddle im on has a wider back. Seems like it would be comfortable and the idea of a rope bridge with a micro pully seems like it would be easy to roll around. any reviews on that weaver saddle yet? looking into buying a saddle as well.

Descision made

I've decided to stick with what I'm comfortable with, so I'm going to get the Petzl Sequoia.

Thanks for suggesting an alternative though.

shelter tree is in attleboro mass, not too far from bridgewater, they can hook you up. You can also try the tree austria, kolibri, and dragonfly while you are there.

Wait and got to the ISA show in St.Louis, MO and you can dtry on most every saddle there is.

If you are going to make gear purchases, you only have to pay for the show ticket, or go to the TCC and pay nothing but for the trip. Then you can write off the trip, because it is professional. (unless you use the 1040EZ)

Hey, i'm up for a new saddle too. is the rope bridge have a cable through it?
or is the floating D the way to go. i have a realy old saddle that weighs a ton. i like the looks of the tree-motion w/ the leg straps instead of the butt straps. any one know of a store near Allentown Pa.?

Dates? I have to go back to Scotland and then to the Czech Republic in March/April.

also: a bunch of different Petzl saddles, buckingham, some Komet harnesses I've never seen before, (but forgot to ask about.) Probably a few I am forgetting. They don't have the motion or flex.

Wait a minute JPS, You gonna drive all the way to the bay state to try on saddles????:dizzy:
