I've been playing with the idea of getting a new saw..
I'm runnig a MS180 it works good for a little saw but I feel I'm ready to move up, I also have 6 cord coming in 4' length . I know my little saw will do the work but how long it will take me is another thing.

I've found a guy who has 3 used Husqvarna saws for sale. I know very little about them so I figured this is the best place to ask.

2007 Model 455

Model 266

Model 261

He's going to let me know what he wants for each one. I'll post back when I find out..

Of those I'd take the 266.

I Have a 455 with a 20" bar, It does pretty good. My ported (older) 55 rancher will whip it when it comes to speed going through hard woods. I save the 455 for when I'm in a pinch or when I don't have time to change or sharpen another chain. I have had it for a year and it's only been used about 4 times. It's a great saw but I like useing my older saws more.

he 266 is gone..

he asking $300 for the 261 and $250 for the 455

You're making me happy that I bought a one month old Dolmar PS510 today, with three once sharpened chains and two brand new chains, for $220. Probably has 3-5 tanks of fuel through it. Same dealer would sell me a brand new 510 for $299, or a 5100S for $389. He sold a freshly tuned Husky 51 and Stihl MS290 for $150 each last week. I would have liked to have the 51 but it was gone before I heard about it. Just as well, I like my 510 better.
Oh, this is not in the same league, but I'm buying a Husky 36 with 14" 3/8 pitch on it for $75 as soon as he puts a new brake on it.

Oops, I just noticed that you're in Canada. For all I know, you may have quoted good prices. I'm glad I don't have to pay them here, especially now that our dollars reached parity.

I'm surprised.. I kinda expected more input from everyone.. I'm pretty new to the whole saw thing.. hence why I paid $400 for a new MS 180C

I just thought i;d get more input.. maybe I'm just beating a dead horse..

The 261 is a better choice if it is good shape!
I would not waist my money on used saw again
I buy new now. I would suggest a 372 xp while
they are still around!
