Just looking for some opinions on a good trim saw. I have used alot of different ones and I will be purchasing one very soon. I am leaning towards the husqvarna 335xpt and this is one saw I haven't used at all. I don't want to catch any flack but I'm not to crazy about stihl. they are just to heavy. I use the stihl 09's at work and they aren't balanced at all. What about Redmax also? thanks guys.

if $$ is an issue, Echo 3400

Use the search feature, you will find a lot there.

I have no complaints with an El-Cheapo Echo CS-2000, it keeps on going and going. Saved me enough money that I could also purchase a Stilh 026 as my larger climbing saw.

Love the Echo 3000 cs. Used to have a cs-3400 what a reliable screamer it really was I think they have quit making it thou. the 335 is up to speed. Just aint as strong as the sthil 020 thou. But the 335 is more compact great for thos tight places. The 250 bucks for the echo is ok but it lacks the power for anything bigger than my leg.;)

I've used the Echo cs-3400 (now the cs-340) for years, and have had great luck with the reliability. Power-wise, they're pretty much adequate for my needs. They are cheap, but if you take reasonably good care of them, you more then get your moneys' worth.

I did recently get to use a 338XPT, and I was impressed with the balance and power it had. The price tag wasn't too killer, either. After all the troubles Husky has had with the 335 though, I'm going to wait and see how they hold up before I run out and by one.

re new saw

well lets see (Take off the chain brake) uh stuuuuupid ( take off muffler screen) what good comes of that? less carbon build up and power loss But if you clean it every once in a while it wont matter.... dont make no sense to me and i wouldnt recommend it....

ECHO

I remeber tearing out the screen a few months after I bought it never knew an exhause screen made a difference. Did i loose power when I did that? When i first bought the saw I cut bout 90 pines over 80 sumpin trailers in Jaxsonville Fla.The park had to be the smallest area ive ever had to throw trees in maybe 2 acreas. If fact we had problems getting the log truck in there 4 times to get the logs out. Good 16'6 and most were at least 22 DBH. Yeah that ECHO cut down alot of big trees. Ran a Husky 55 on the job to.But mostly that new ECHO cut thru them fat pines. After 8 days of close quarters throwing big stuff over mobil homes my nerves were shot!. Never forget that job the guy still offers free room and board when i visit the city. Sweet huh.

I've got both the 335xpt and the 200t; the 335 is a little nose heavy and doesn't have quite as much power. I haven't had any serious problems with either saw, my choice is the 200t.
