New Stihl Saw???

I just noticed that Stihl's Canada sight is showing a new saw....Its a MS340......57cc...a little over 4 hp.....looks to be a pro saw...has the white handle instead of orange...but this saw is not listed on their US site. Was wondering if anyone has seen this new model...or tried it....you have to click on the "whats new" icon on stihl's canadian site to see it. Wonder how one "hopped up" by one of the builders on the forum would be?

Sounds like an 034 under the new numbering system.

yup....lookin at it again....looks like an 034....with newer model cosmetics....not too many of other upgrades such as a decompression valve....and no elasto-start...

MS340

Just bought a new MS340. Good weight, rim sprocket, and a compensating carb. It seems to handle a 18" bar and chain well with lots of parts and service available locally. Cost about $589CDN. Asked what the MS stood for and aparently its German for chain saw (motor sawgen) or something like that. Thanks Dieseldog!

I was looking at Stihl's Brazil Site. You still buy an 038 and what looks to be the old style 066 magnum. Rich.

Heck, in Bazil you can get anything. They still sell new 08S and 051 models over there.
