Just wanted to say hello, and introduce myself. I just found this site and it looks interesting. I own a small residential tree company in central N.Y and have been in the tree industry for the last 10years.

Welcome. Its pretty cool actually, I hate to admit it but I've learned some things here-and had some good laughs. Never pictured myself the geek but hey whatever, lol. Its also helping my typing, so thats a good thing. :monkey:

welcome to the board. What type of tree work do you do? What equipment do you use?

Thanks for the welcomes. We Primaraly specialize in technical tree removal but are involved in most other aspects of the tree buisness aswell. I have been climbing for the last 8yrs and been involved with the industry for the past 10. We have a Altec bucket with forestry package a 1890 Brush Bandit with all the bells and wistles, a Large Rayco stump grinder with the duetz Diesel, A small self propeled Carlton Grinder, A IMT Knuckle boom with a 12k lifting capacity, A bobcat 843b Skidsteer with a buch of attachments, And a few other various dump truck's and trailers aswell as a pretty good size arrangment of saws and gear. We lease a 157ft and a 130ft crane on a regular basis for large tree removals with minimal impact on the home owners property. Thanks again for the welcome, I look forward to learning as much as possible and hopefully sharing some Imformation to make all of our buisneses a safer and more productive field to be in.

Welcome aboard!
I am rather new to the site myself but enjoy every minute of it. Lots of good advice and debate here.

Cudos on the IMT crane those are made right back in my home town. Looks like you have a real great set up. Welcome to AS.
Jared

Thanks again, I am impressed with the IMT in comparison to the HIAB it replaced.

Nice looking equipment. Welcome to the site. Beware, it's addictive. Did I see your crew up in Buffalo last year? Those trucks look familiar.

No, we do not really travel much. We spend 2/3rds of our time working in Albany and the surrounding towns and cities. With the price of fuel today it makes it hard to bid out of town jobs competively.

Coulda been anybody, I suppose. Seemed like everyone and his brother with a chainsaw was cuttin' up there after the storm.
