I wanted to thank all that gave me advice on a new saw.....I finally decided on a Stihl 250 .....I ran it the last 2 days and i really like the choice of saws...its a good small/ midsize saw and I liked it better then the echo 3400...a little heavier but more power....hopefully it will last as long as there reputation is thanks all....WVROOKIE

I think you made a good choice going with Stihl, although I have not used a 250. Get to know your selling dealer, and he will take care of you. As far as how long it will last?????? that is largely up to you. Good quality maintanance often and regular is the key. Keep care of it and it will last a long time for you. Remember, no matter how sharp they are, they still don't cut stones!

I believe the 025/ MS250 is one of the jems in the Stihl light duty line. I have one that I bought used over 10 years ago. Just put rings in it last year, and it has 95% of the power of my newer 026.
