I'm not much for following social media, but I have been picking up a few tweets, even without a computer. A few weeks ago a pair of wrens took up residence in the engine compartment of the sawmill, and I didn't have the heart to evict them. Chicks are already about feathered out. Fortunately, I could use the time to overhaul the old 8N Ford, and cut a few logs ahead. Looks like they'll give me back the key to the mill by this weekend.

Hey Dave, I like your little visitors. The only thing that ever makes nest in or on my equipment is wasps. I have a 57 Ford 641, that my dads neighbor gave me a couple years ago. I put new brake shoes on it but something is still not right. I can stand on the brakes with all of my weight and it will just barely slow down and stop. Hard to hold it on a hill. The tires have calcium in them so it's a pain to pull them, but I'm gonna have to get back in there and see what's wrong, Joe.

This is about as close as I get to tweet.

These little guys visited us every day after we stopped milling - they got on amongst the sawdust and cut wood.
They move real fast and I have to take lots of pics to get these two.

Joe, that's going to be a pain pulling those wheels. Be careful that one of those doesn't come down on you. Similar problem with my 8N. I'm pretty sure it's a seal that is letting oil leak onto the brake lining. Got the IT manual? 600 series Fords are great. My brother's got one that I borrow for brush hogging.

BobL, those are either very small birds or very large slabs! Great photos. It is tough to get good wildlife shots. Thanks for posting them.
