But understand that these are 'nominal' measurements. In other words, anything between 15 and 17 inches might be called '16 inches'. And when you go to buy a chain, the important measurement is the number of drive links, or the loop size. I had 2 different STIHL 16 inch saws that used different size loops* of identical chain!

(*MS250: 62DL, .325/.063, MS260: 67 DL, .325/.063 chain)
