I got some pictures of parts on my saw I'm rebuilding and I'm wondering if there still good or if I should buy a new ones(I'm not a fan of wasting 100 or so on a new crank).

First, crankshaft

Please ignore all the caked on sawdust and oil.

And, yes the piston is damaged and I'm getting a new one.

On the first picture that is the only side of the crank that is rusted, the other side isn't but I can get a picture if you would like one.

Second, the clutch

Ignore the crankshaft on that one, the guy I bought it from seized the saw and let it sit around forever so that crankshaft isn't any good(it won't turn).

third, the drum(don't know how vital it is if this is rusted or not)

Thanks to everyone.

None of this looks good... I image your crank bearings are shot also... What saw??

How is the big end (crank-rod) bearing?

Used cranks are not all that expensive...

If it were me I would only worry about the rust that is on working surfaces, at the contact points for the bearings etc. The one I can see in the pics is the clutch drum bearing surface.

It's an Stihl 044. Do you want pictures of the bearings? They turn but I'm not sure how fast or smooth they're supposed to turn. Please bear with me as this is my first full rebuild.
