Cut right on through. When you can see the whole board is time to make a decision about trimming. Even then I'd leave it as cut as its easier to stack a bunch of equal sized boards for drying.
 
Mill tru em...

Your gonna find out,,,alot of your beautiful design of wood is going tru knots...The pattern is awesome.....This wall desk I'm making has some knots in it...Look for yourself,,and see.....

Another question I am setting up the mini mill now for the first cut is it better to go with a 12 foot edge or two smaller ones? Longest log I have right now is 11 ft and most are 7-9 ft long.

I love milling tru knots....You never know how it's gonna come out....
I hope to get this finished in a week or two,,,betwen work and tryin to get crops planted,,,just havent had alot of time.....

One long section,,and then cut up to length....Save alot of setup time....

P.S. I always make sure I stop tru a long one and let my baby idle and cool back down....Save you alot of troubles down the road....

Thank again stripes should be up and milling in about a week still gather up logs and making a place to get it off the ground...I got a mini mill and a
30in. mill that still need to put toghter...Hoping to get everything right before I start got some nice logs.

With my 076 on hard long wide slabs I mill continuously till the mix tank starts to run dry, 20+ minutes - provided the H screw is set a little rich it seems to handle it just fine. Of course if it is a smaller saw I would be more worried about it.

the 460 runs out pretty quick but never time it...On a 55-60 in. trunk I can get 4-5 cross cuts with a tank in softwood.
