Didn't see a section for new comer introductions so I'll just post here.

Been cutting wood for a few years now. It is my sole source of heat in the winter. And am now getting into chainsaws. I have used a Homelite 4620c and now it is lacking. Good for the occasional use or weekend camper. I also have a Mccullough eager beaver 2.1 and love this thing. Great de-limber. My buddy just gave me a Solo 647 he had laying around. Doesn't remember the last time it ran. Will be buying a new saw for next season (can't afford one this year). I am looking at Husqvarnas and Sthils. Leaning toward Sthil as the local Sthil dealer is more knowledgable about saws and would be a greater help to me then the Husqvarna dealer. Got a lot of good information trolling this site. Thanks

Welcome to AS. Lots of good information here and other info just for fun (see other forums). Guys in the firewood section are good sources for heating info. As for saw manufacturers you can't go wrong with either Stihl or Husqvarna. Be comfortable with your dealer.
