Hello,

I've recently planted a NW poplar tree and 3 days later the leaves turn yellow. Shortly after that some of the leaves have started to drop?

Any insight to this problem would be great.

Yes, buy a couple more and plant them too. Or return the one you got.

Actually it might be too hot to be planting trees this time of year.

Sounds like you got a water problem. Try to water the tree.
Eventually it's only the planting shock.

Thanks,

I suspect planting shock as well. Watering shouldn't be an issue as I've actually ask the client to ease off on the watering. Each time I visited the tree the soil was soaking down to 10 inches. I'll keep an eye on it and let it be till next season. Replace it then if need be.

They are deciduous..You are further north..That time of the yr.This is zone 17 and our poplars, willows and cottonwoods are beginning to turn.
