Got called too put a bid on this one told the contractor to walk away. He didnt want to gave price then crane couldnt get in place and things went downhill from there. I guess the guy who wound up doing the job got the bucket on the first day.

ACK!! Thats some nasty cheese!! And wasnt some one takin pot shots at me in another thread for installing lightning protection?

Kenn:D

Yes, that was the plan Maas. There was no dz. The tree was very unstable. I told the guy who owned the tree co. to walk away but he isnt that bright. i turned aa bid of 10k + crane cost. I didnt think a 40ton could get set up on site due to a double fall line in the yard. But the bidder for the crane co said he coukld make it in I was Like "are you sure?" so next day when the crane comes in the operattor tries to get near the tree but setup is undoable. So I'm not that bummed. anyway some yahoo from Assplundh comes out the next day bids the kob considerably cheaper, and proceeds to smash the boom on the first bucket, bring in a second bucket and manage in three days gets the tree down to about a 40' stick. This homeoner was by know means hurtung for money.

Yo I'll do it for $1000 plus expenses with out a crane. Theres nothing wrong with that tree. Why steal someones nest egg. Give me a call. 215- 272 -4703

Little jonny your exuberance is a clear sign of your lack of experience. Slow down young man and breathe thru your nose, a grand was my price and thats insured with a sound plan. Don't accuse me of stealing anything from anyone unless its in peson.

no disrespect but i do not see what all the fuss is about to me and my crew it would be just another day at the office :)

no offence intended

Not much fuss but alot of labor, and more like two days at the office with a little more exposure than normal, and the normal property in the dz. And I do tend to cover angles more than the average guy, one of the reasons I have been as succesful as I have been.

going by your pic 45 meter 'BRONTO' bucket should do the job ..but like i said going by your pics ;)

mind you things can look a lot differant in the flesh :)

like you i check out and check again thats why i have never had a insurance claim in 10 years..thank the lord..:D

You said 10k not 1 k. I didn't say you are stealing I said no sense in stealing $. Its just some wood. It stood this long whats another hour or two? It's not a lack of experience its too much experience and complasantsy. Honestly I am sick of climbing and left with no choice but to climb. I can't tell you off the top of my head what I did the day before because I really don't care anymore.

I considered a large bucket but then canceled that due to the fact that a 100' rrig still wouldnt be high enough up the codoms to peice them into the drop zone. and as it turned out it wouldnt make it to the back of the property. The 65' bucket that went in got its boom craked the first day, the secind bucket made it I guess, they lost both fences, a retaining wall and there was still a good size stick in the air last time I saw the site. I was removing everthing and leaving the structures intact.

john the price to the tree contractor was 10k my price to him was 1k the photos were taken 5-6 hours after the strike, the Fire dept temporaily closed the homeowners house till the tree came down. Also the Sherrifs asked the 2 neighbors to the north to not be within 150' of the tree while removal was going on.

What you needed to do was to give the ground crew a pep talk maybe yell at them a bit put them down and then grab a saddle and a saw and get cutting. Can't make money talking about it.

Cause if you want to get it done and keep going they better be able to keep with brush that is going to comeing down thats all. Nothing worse than a crew that slows climber down and have to wait on them. I have a reputation to keep.

wiley imo you got to do what you got to do ,the safest way possible,so hard to fully picture a job from behind a screen ,i may have jumped the gunn like many do on here from time to time

climb safe is my motto

You're still trucking off just a little off course my man, you commented on the fact that the tree had been standing for this long suggesting thart stability wasnt much of an issue, I told you I took the photos about 6 hours after the tree got hit and you start talking about the crew keeping pace with a climber who puts brush on the ground to fast. Are you drunk?
