nice wood at my house

Looks like a nice piece of property with a great view! I love white oaks, especially the big 200+ year old trees with cue ball crowns.
 
Couple weeks ago a friend of mind lost a large white oak that was 4' DBH to straight line winds. It was rather rotten at the base. That tree may have started out back in the mid 1800's. Luckily my friend burns wood and now has a lot of big oak to process.

I just processed the trunk section of a 3' DBH white oak and it was 125-150 years old...that one could easily be 200+ years old for sure. It's amazing the growth difference between red/pin oak and white oak.
