had one that was much like others have talked about here..poor peformance because it was set to lean..
so in desperation i pulled the choke out a bit..instead of adjusting fuel it adjust the air to the best performance mix,at wot..works for me.. seems to run pretty strong..mabe u guys knew that ,but this is my first carb like this..more than one way to skin a cat..

I've had to work with a few Stihls that have similar cargbs on them, fixed high speed jets and adjustable low speed jets on them, they performed very poorly in any situation. I'll stick with my fully adjustable carbs for the ease of adjustment.

Tony, the low-speed jet gets it's fuel through the fixed jet, so the low-speed jet doesn't alter the high-speed mixture at all; only the low.  You can increase the amount of fuel by increasing the jet size either with a larger replacement jet or by enlarging the one you have.  Stihltech has gone over that several times here.  You may very well be able to raise the inlet lever slightly and achieve some measure of success without messing with the jet.  The fixed HS jets are moderately inconvenient but they're not the end of the world.  Stihl was not the first to use them and they won't be the last; and they're used on more than just chainsaws.

jets

Well, I will get this in before everybody starts getting their licks in.:D

The inlet lever is critical. Set it to specs, usually even with the chamber floor or the small bosses either side of it. Take something small and clean the jet thoroughly, I am finding dirty jets also.
The final thing is to change (or enlarge) the jet.
And yes, this will make the saw perform properly.

OOOps, here they come, gotta go!;)

yea stihltech,im glad u got a real fix for the problem.. my fix probably wont work on every 2 cycle..but my specialty is getting by with wht u got,and figuring a way to make do..this is justa cheap one ,
but doing what i did got me a trimmer that performs about like the old adjust
carbs do..a saw takes a lot more power and my fix mite not apply to them..
ill probably never know ,as i expect my saws to last about as long as ill be needing them.. assuming ill get back to the point of being able to use them..
the worst parto this thing as far as work goes,, is just watching the saws sit doing nothin..like having agood race horse with no jockey to ride it..:)
