Just had my 32" bar drilled to increase its log diameter cutting capacity a bit. This will increase the number of logs I can do with the 32" bar instead of having to use the 60" bar.

Looking forward to trying it out either tomorrow or Saturday!

Looks good, I haven't used my mill enough to worry about clamping it on, and the bar is one of the originals that came with the saw, so I was leaning away from drilling it. Buuuut, now this spring I have lots of logs and it looks like I may have a good bit of time to mill. One of my 36" bars is a hard nose, and the 36"er I've been using, has a big hole cut in it for a helper handle. I'm thinkin I can use a large washer through the hole and I won't have to drill that end. I'm gonna check some of the old posts to see how to bolt the mill to the bar studs. I may be able to get away without drilling my original bar. Here's my saw with the 36, what do you think, Joe.

Thanks for the pics looks good. I'm planning on doing the same thing to get more bar length and prevent clamps from moving on the bar. How did you bolt the bar to the top clamp, did you drill and tap that plate on the clamp or is there a nut in there somehow? What size bolt 1/4" or 5/16" did you use?

Tried to drill my 36" powermatch plus in the center of the nose sprocket bearings and it won't drill and the bearings seem a little smashed. I am getting a few replacement noses and was wondering how y'all drill those.

5/16" -18 thread per inch works well and is the same as the bar nuts.

That bar looks good- good job!!!

I had the top part drilled and tapped for a 3/8" bolt. No worries about it breaking as that metal was almost as hard as the metal on the bar.

It was beyond what I wanted to do so I just went to my local machine shop and let him do it. VERY hard metal.

Waterjet knocked out the 5/16 holes in the center of the sprocket, did three of them for some back up. Need to be careful torqing it or the sprocket won't turn!!! Will use washers on all bar surfaces to keep it level.

Got $100 for my first milled wood.

Got to use it some yesterday and today. Worked great! Pretty easy to get on and off and anytime you can get two more inches without taking some kind of pill, well, that's a plus too. hehe
