The Botanic Garden of Smith College in Northampton, MA is hosting the Northeast Regional AABGA Meeting this fall: September 30 - October 1, 2005, on the theme of Technology and the Garden.
Full information and registration materials are now available online at http://www.smith.edu/garden/aabga
We've worked to keep the cost of the meeting very reasonable, and there is a substantial discount for students. The deadline for early registrations is August 15. Spaces on the bus tour and in the workshops are limited so register early!
In addition to some very exciting sessions, the meeting includes tours, pre- and post-meeting workshops, a chance to explore the Botanic Garden and time for networking and socializing.
Please forward this email to anyone you think may be interested in attending this meeting.
Thanks! We look forward to seeing you this fall!

John, What does AAbGA stand for. I will guess the GA, growers association?
American Association of Arboreta and Botanical Gardens. When I worked for one and was active in it--10+ yrs ago--it was mostly about universities and other display gardens. Much cool tree info and research takes place at these gardens, and their meetings were fun.

Recommended for anyone interested in trees, definitely if you live in the area. It comes right after the Midatlantic ISA Chapter's meeting in Morgantown WV. They have a strong program again this year, which I can say without bias since I'm not on it:

You could attend both, just drive from Morgantown to Northampton the night of September 29th! :blob2:

Only a 30 minute ride for me.

'Course I don't plan that far ahead, but I can help anyone who needs directions/etc.

Any CEUs? I would imagine, being directly related to a college.
ceu's may be more routinely arranged through a college, but any educational activity can qualify. Most of the sessions look applicable to arboriculture, so they would qualify. I'd ask the converence organizer to apply, tho you can do it yourself too.

Will JPS be attending?

I wish, I was too buisy for the WAA shindig. The client who has that day regularly told me "You better not go to Appleton! I've gotta get those willows done!"

As for ISA in Nashville, I wrote that off a long time ago. For some reason she wants me to help pay for the wedding and the house and such

I think TCIA is still on the books though.... :dizzy:
