Hi everyone, i am new to the site, didn't even know this existed. I found some interesting info on here, great to see a place where you can co-verse with other professionals.

My reason for posting is i am thinking of finally starting my tree service business. I have been working with trees for over ten years and already have a small customer base. I live in south eastern pa, chester county and have been doing research on a name for my business.

Does anyone in the pa area know if northern chester tree service has been used as a business name? I looked online can't find anything local with that name. Do you think it's a good name for a business?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time

Uh oh. You got some local competition on this site.

Like MDS said, the name is a little long and IMO also limits you to a certain area in a customer's mind. They might think you only work in Northern Chester Co. I don't know about you but my service would starve if I only worked in my town. We do business regularly in 3 different NY counties as well as 2 in PA. I wouldn't want a potential customer in the next county to flip over to another page in the phone book because they think I won't travel.

Are you a licenced arborist? Do you intend to become licenced?

What sort of services do you want to provide ultimately? Is this just tree removal, or are you thinking tree care as well?

Just curious?

BTW: do you need a licence to prune trees in chester county?
