Wrong forum, I know. Sorry.

I want to find someone with a grove of Norway Spruce, maybe even white pine, about 10-15' tall, who wants to sell about 20 to me in southeast PA. I'll dig and move them.

No, I am not going to pay a nursery for these. There's got to be groves out there that could use thinning, with the owner looking for $.

Beyond craigslist and such, any ideas?

I would go smaller, there are a number of studies that show that smaller trees recover from transplant shock faster.

White pine should not be a problem, but Norway spruce is an introduce species and may be harder to find. Tough I have read that some areas, like Conn. list it as invasive. Maybe your state forestry department could give you an idea where there are common.

There are a number of organizations like Family Forests that are small woodlot conservation "clubs" Here is a search you can start with.

Instead of planting a monoculture, look at a mix of naturally associative species. Look at this page from USFS fire effects website for Wite Pine.

http://www.fs.fed.us/database/feis/plants/tree/pinstr/all.html

You will see charts with the forest types it is found in and associate trees it is found with.
