Anyone renew your insurance lately (since May 5)? If you do pesticide applications, get ready to open the wallet.
ODA clarified language that they expect insurance companies to cover damage done when applying pesticides, and insurance is saying that kicks in O&E insurance. $500 extra minimum is what they told me. I'll be shopping around, but doesn't sound promising. This is not on ODA...insurance companies were denying claims when contractors damaged property. The case that set this off was when a contractor sprayed 50 acres of turf for weeds.......with glyphosate . Insurance company denied the claim. ODA now requires specific language on the certificate and insurance companies didn't want to make themselves liable (go figure). Leaves me wondering why I have been paying for that extra endorsement if they weren't gonna cover it???
