Does an oiler have to have a hole for air to get on? Mine doesnt seem to be letting oil out fast enough. This is a auxiliary oiler not the saw.

pull the oil hose off of the aux oiler and blow into it, if the oil in the hose does not come out into the bar/chain, you may have a piece of sawdust plugging the small hole in the bolt on the bar. Mine gets plugged up every so often; when everything is fine, the oil still comes out slow though.

Yes, your nose oil bottle needs to vent. Here is what I used for my nose oil bottle for venting, and I don't get any wood chips-dust in the bottle. It's a bronze filter that is threaded for 1/4" pipe. They can be purchased at any bearing supply house for $.50 each. When I made the nose oil bottle, I tapped the bung for 3/4" pipe. I then drilled and tapped the PVC plug for 1/4" pipe and used the bronze filter. Works real nice.
