I asked the question about a new saddle last week. Thanks for all the input. I have narrowed it down to two.

Petzl Navaho
New Tribe 00

Any input would be great. I climb SRT.

Whats the 00? I have their work saddle and it rocks! I would take american New Tribe over a french maid any day.

If the 00 is a variant of the work saddle, I am 100% for it!

I also recommend the New Tribe. I haven't climbed with the Petzl but many who have say it can pinch uncomfortably. EVERYONE who I have talked with about the Ness (New Tribe) think it is good-many think it is the very best. It is the best for me of those I've used to date.

Who all here is on the Ness? Justin I think has been on it the longest. I remember when I got mine and he recommended it, along with butch and a few others.

Ness:)

Frans, Burnham and Oxman all gave me feedback on the Ness before I bought mine.

Ralph,-Glad to here that you like your Navaho. Have you tried the Ness also?

Ive had a Ness for over 6 years now. like my BF more, but I'll never part with the ness.
Its my small tree(light pruning) saddle

ok so
I ordered the New Tribe. It will be used everyday and used hard. will it stand up?

I did like the navajo but thought I would try the NTribe, it looks so comfy. Does it get wet from sweat?

Thanks for all your help. I will let you know how I like it.
Anything is better than the hip squizzing Weaver I have used for many years.

Does it get wet from sweat? Um. Yes, you put water on something its wet.

I have never noticed it though, it doesnt hold water really. If its rained on it will but its no biggy.

Mine is standing up very well. I got the petzel paw to go along with it as well as a ditty bag.

yea, that is what i ment to say...does it hold water.. It looks so comfortable and soft, I thought is was valure ;)

No, I haven't. The navaho is actually my first upgrade from a weaver.

I ordered a NewTribe a week ago...it is supposed to arrive later today...it's midnight now, should be at work tomorrow. I also ordered the "00".

That is "00 NEW TRIBE PROGEAR SADDLE" on their web site for youse guys that were asking.

I, too, am tired of my hip squeezing Buckingham butt-strap saddle...date on the metal tag is 6-78...I guess it is time for a change!!

Let me know how yours does...I'll do the same. :blob2:
