I am looking at an Olathe 816 with a bad power unit. It had a 4 cylinder diesel but that is no longer with the machine. I have been told a Chrysler 225 6 cyclinder will also fit in the unit. Does anyone know if this engine will work for this chipper or another option to repower it?

Are other parts still available for this unit? I know Olathe went out of business years ago. I would like to find whatever literature I can before I purchase this and start the rebuild process.

Thanks for your help and advice.

Hi Jac1,
Wondering if you ever found information and a place to order parts? We have one needing a new clutch plate and center bearing. Same model.
Trying to reach out and find some help through the inter webs... =)
Thanks in advance!

Hello Hellga61,

I might be able to help you with the clutch plate and I guess you're describing a pilot bearing that goes into the fly wheel. Please give me all of the information on the inspection plate of the bell housing and I'll see what I can do to help.

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks so much Dave - after I discovered the Funk Tranny I was able to increase my search capabilities and found an equipment shop that could handle the repair. We will hang on to your info though - really appreciate your offer of help!
