That went fairly well. Ended up putting the tank on 3" rectangular tube to get clearance, and had to kind of hang it off the edge a few inches anyway. Used a elbo to get the return back to the tank, you can see the return 1" going over the supply in second pic. Changed out all the fluid as well. I couldn't remember what all I had in there anyway. Some of it was plain old tractor oil I am certain. Screw it, we went this far let's finish the job. 25 gallons in there at the moment, and I could add a couple more yet. The cylinder holds 2 gallons.
The suction screen is very nice, and the 1 1/4 hose nippled in pretty well but it took some convincing to get it hooked up as that is some stiff stuff. I love the filler neck with a screen on the inlet! that will discourage junk from getting in there.

It should be back up to it's 10.3 sec cycle time, and with the stroke limit at 18" makes it 7.7 seconds. The three way wedge is very nice to work with. I am gonna run this tomorrow fairly hard on some green blocks and have some fun!

Old blue is perfect now. I seriously think that my homemade tank was not up to the task when I swapped the pump from 16 GPM a few years ago.
The thing now runs without whining. It always had a whine to it before. Cavitation.... it had to be. The last year or so it got worse, and I had to do "something" about it. The thing is up to full speed, and busting blocks like no tomorrow.

The basket is a "staging area". I don't know why I made a rotary, but it worked out that way. Welded a post to the axle and slid the basket on there. Nice to have it removable for getting to the coupler on the drive motor. The 3 way is the cats meow. I don't understand why factory models don't do this. I tried 4 way and it jams up too easily. plus makes too many small ones. This triple wedge works well for me. you can get 1/2's easily, thirds, and with a 60 deg rotation after the first split (hand onto the pieces) you get sixths with two strokes.P1012404.JPG P1012405.JPG

Patrick62, I hate you. Now I wish I had powered my splitter to move it around. I already had most of the stuff I would need anyway. No more looking at other people's splitters until mine is all done.

I started with "normal" creations, but quickly realized that it has a engine and why can't I drive it around?
Old rear axle outta mini pickup and a low speed high torque hydraulic motor. Add a valve for driving it and reversing direction. The steering is, as you can see simple.... Blue has a valve that is open center, it coasts to a stop. The red one has a closed center valve and is a little harder to stop gently but will stay parked and not roll.

The cheesy part of my install is just hooking the drive valve into the return line from the split valve. Probably should swap that out for a "power beyond" or some such thing. However, it has worked well.
