Way back in the 80's I planted some black walnuts . Just another mistake I made. In a grove they grow straight, tall and nicely shaped. Out in the open? Nope, limbs droop down, they don't self prune and in general are very ratty looking. I got tired of my hat getting knocked off when I mowed and drug out the 15' ladder to cut those drooping limbs. Set it up, stood back and looked at it it and decided my days of crawling a ladder to prune trees was past. loaded the ladder on the truck to return to the owner, in house and called a tree service.

Bid was $400 for 4 trees. BSing with the boos he said to drop that to $300. I wrote a $350 check. Best to be remembered as a good client with those guys :). 1 hour later I had 4 trees that looked like trees vice brush and didn't have a bill from the hospital. They also looked far better than I could have done from a ladder.
