I really don't know much about these old saws. They belong the the father of a friend of mine. He has tons of these things. There are many more than what I have pictured here. I believe they're all 80cc to >100cc. They all run too. The repainted one cost him $25 along with another one. That one in particular has the pyramid reed cage. I don't know the model. Enjoy.

nice. Those old saws make you appreciate how tough the loggers of days gone by were. Those old big homelites, macs, etc have tons of cutting power with tons of weight to go with it. Great pics, thanks for sharing.

And to think that at one time I wondered why all the old school tree guys and timber cutters had the upper body strength of an adult bison!!!

I'd hate to think how long I would last totin one of those big homies up and down hills and bucking with it for say 10 hours a day.

agreed. I run my old 80 cc saws for a little bit for fun. I wouldn't want to use one of them all day. My back wouldn't let me anyway.

It ran real strong.

Yep, that is the cream of the lo rev/high torque saws, the SXL-925!

At 5.3HP and around 20 pounds for the dry powerhead it was one of the lightest 5+HP saws, and also one of the most popular saws of that era.

Dont forget, it only weighs 20-25lbs when your carrying it, dosent weigh nothing when its working. Put some full chisel on it, take the rakers down to .030-.035 and watch it work!

Excellent Pics!!!

OOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

(Just like a crowd watching a good fireworks show this is!)

Something like 'I'd give my left testicle.....' ...............um...........probably not, nm. :D

Some old beauties there tho the imbedded images took a bit to download it was worth it!

 To another great set of pics, a fine way to spend an afternoon imho! (and get them muffs on at the very least, sheesh! "Huh what???)

I'm not trying to be a wise-en- hiemer but the weight of a Mac SP 125,Homelite 2100 S,Husqvarna 3120 and Stihl 088 are all within one pound of each other ,little known fact.;)
