Ok guys I have had a 372 xpg setting in the shed for around 5 years now The only time I use it is to cut my other saw out of a pinch. anyway I am thinking of getting it woods ported. Just one problem I live in the south and really don't want to ship it across country to be worked on any suggestions of someplace closer to send it

and another thing who does the best woods port package around

I'm sending my 044 to Ben at northwest chainsaw, From NC to Washington. I'll be putting lotsa insurance on it.

I have never dealt with the builders here but have read good and bad about all of them. try a search for Dave at washington hotsaws, Ben, Dave N. Others should post more builders....

I think you mean DEAN and Washington Hotsaws. He goes by klickitatsacket on here.

If you can mix your own gas, I think you should mod it yourself! You can buy all the tools you would need for under $100 and you would learn a bunch doing it. The mods can be done by a first timer EASILY in an afternoon - experienced builders can have a port job done in as little as an hour.

Gypologger posted a good thread about modding a MS650 Stihl on here - search for it. There is a plethora of information on here and several other sites. Do some reading and you will figure it out in a hurry.

If you have questions, ask them in this thread! I am SERIOUS - YOU can do this yourself! Lots of guys here to help you!

OK...I just want to know what kind of saw you're using...If your 372 is your 2nd string saw???

yes the 372 is my second sting saw its been used 3 times total

But my main saw is a 365 spl I started with it and have used and abused it
for around 6-7 years

The 372 just looks to good right now to have it sliding around in the back of my truck The old 365 still does pretty good but you can start to tell its getting tired
