Anyone out there familiar w/ old sear saws?? Its turqoise in color I think. very large, some sort of gear box on it , has a split tank on top for the fuel and the chain oil. One of the guys gave me some info on the saw earlier . like to hear from you w/ any ifto.thanks ,, Mike.

You can still get internal engine and carb parts for them. Most of them used Power Products/Lawnson/Tecumseh engines.

John in Ma,
If,..it's the saw that looks like a Homelite XL12, or the Lombard 4.2 models, they were made by Roper 3.7 cu. in. for Sears, using Roper's reed valve engine.
They also made a smaller 2.5 cu.in. which was also discontinued.

If,...you know of a good reliable parts source for old Roper parts,
Please let me know. A lot of service work gets turned away because of parts unavailability.
Thanks!

Thanks...

Mike here,, thanks for the info , sounds like I"ll be able to get parts for this thing , like to get it running. 3.7cu. in. ,, is that considered to be a fairly large size saw?? How much power do you guys think this saw was rated @ new??

We don't know what your size saw is without photos or a good description. A full model number would help, too.

3.7 cid is a midsize saw. I don't know what power these were, but they weren't much. Not worth fixing if it needs more than carb work or other minor repairs.
