It is not rare, not in the best condition, I say cheep.

Strong saw, ran mine a few times. Nothing I would work many days with;)

Old Sthil:

Hi Mange, looks very much like my Stihl, 08 Super. Finally picked her up yesterday and added it to my collection. Will get some pictures today and eventually post some shortly of the saws I have. Take care. Lewis.

Hello Lewis.
Dont forget to post some pics at Chainsaw collectors Forum.
I am exited to see them.

As for the saw Aussie, if the price is right by it and use it for trading, You never know;)

I forgot, It is defenently an 08, I have to one with black text, and one with silver. I think it is an age thing with the colors:D

Here's a pic of my O8 Super, that looks more like the saw you have. The pic on Mike's site shows different handle configurations for the S-10. Course I could be wrong (not the first time). Everyone take care. Lewis.

Lewis.
Here is my 08's. Both run, but the one without bar I havent tested in wood yet.

Fraxinus.
Hope the info helped.

O8 Super Stihl.

Hi Mange. Your saws look pretty close to the one I have. Mine has a throttle lock out that you have to depress first to squeeze the throttle. Must be our saftey laws requireing that here. Don't see it on your 2 saws. Otherwise they look identical to me. Take care. Lewis.

S10

Whoever posted the 1964 Stihl ad they found, it has a real nice picture of an S10. Never knew it was Stihl's economy saw. Guess they have been in the consumer saw business a lot longer than I thought.
Biggest difference was the top of the saw, the flat air filter, and the Tillotsen carb, same as an 041.

The person to credit for digging up those ad's is: Che.
I would like to say:

Thank you, Che.
