We have an older clark 667 cable skidder we use for the hills. The ol 453 detroit went south a few weeks ago. We are locating a cummins 6bt for it. I know ive seen many forsale with the cummins in it. My question has anybody on here did the cummins swap. If so what all has to be done. Thanks

Wouldn't it be easier to just rebuild or replace the 453

I have a 453 in my timberjack and talked about changing over and was told I would have to make some changes to the torque converter

Not really my decision, im just the timber cutter-mechanic. boss has had the ol skidder for a while and is attached a lil to much to it. Its just a little out dated, but gets the job done slowly. Ive heard both ways on the torque converter. Ours has never been rebuilt its like a 78 model. So its loud, smokes alod and has no power. Hes always wanted to put a cummins in it. I will keep you updated.

The 453 is loud but if you put a turbo on them it knocks the sound down.
