I have a promark stump grinder that I am guessing is about 25 years old that was my father's. It was retrofitted with a tecumseh OH160 at some point. When I tore it down to get it running the carb was totally trashed so I found a new one online. Hooked it up and the thing is really hard to start. Takes several sequences of going back and forth between choke and half choke before it will crank up and stay running. Fuel pump screws into the carb and seems to work, but engine seems starved for fuel when trying to crank. Once running it runs out fine......but when you kill it you have to use full choke to get it to pop, then half choke to get going again. Looking for some help!

Not real familiar with that engine/carb but it sounds like your fuel is all draining back to the tank.

You will have to disassemble and clean or replace the fuel pump as well. those get packed full of crap just like a carb. those engines are notorious for ignition coil failure, which may or may not be contributing to your hard start problem. I have an oh180 sitting in my driveway with a dead coil. You would probably be best off replacing that engine at some point, im not a big fan of them.
