A.k.a. Efco, Emak, and Olympik. They make the saws for Deere, and recently I saw some saws in TSC that were branded Cub Cadet, but were very obviously made by Efco. Made in Italy.

Okay, this may seem a dumb question, but is Efco really that good a chainsaw? I've never seen one around here, and we have no dealers that I'm aware of. Even Dolmar is new to me - never seen one of them, ever.

All I want is the best climbing saw and throwing/stump cutting saw I can find. I don't need a limbing saw. I've got my climbing saw, and I'm about to retire my 066. I don't care about price - no one will operate my saws but me. I just want the best, along with the most HP.

Basically, Sthil is all I'm familar with. Before that it was Poulan and Mcoullough(?). Unlike my climbing style, I'm quite open to other options in my chainsaws.

I've run a few Huskys, and they were fine as frog hair, but a Sthil just feels better in my hands. But, I've led a sheltered life when it comes to chainsaw diversification.

Is there better?

Oleo-Mac, Solo, Dolmar, Shindaiwa, RedMax, Echo are all brands that most folks don't think of at first. But they're all good, solid pro saws. The smaller dealer networks can be a downside.

I had known about Dolmar for years, but I didn't know that there was a dealer in this state until I walked into an out-of-the way shop for some Murray parts.

McCulloch, McCulloch, Mculloch. Shouldn't AS have this in the FAQ by now? :)

well that pt about wanting the best, not gonna happen. i just had the best ive seen givin to me. little homelite xl2.:)
so dang easy to use.
i would agree the 20t is good .
if it has h adjust. sorry dealers ,but i dont want a saw,, that i have to take in to have it adjusted....[after a few misstakes]
,,ive pretty much found how to set one the way i want it. and i got to be able to adjust the h.

When Danny sends you a saw it is ready to run and run right.

The first biggest advantage is the huge sh!t-eating grin on your face every time you lay it into a log. :D

Having Danny go through every nut and bolt pretty much negates any need for a warranty, since he would catch any factory defects first and correct them before selling you the saw. Although he is a man of his word and has bent over backwards to resolve issues for customers.

I second that!!!:D :D :D

Another wild thing about these off the wall saw brands is the jaw-drop when you run against a name brand; stock or modded. I like running the different stuff: Shindaiwa, Solo and the latest Dolmar!
