Been thinking about trying onion bags for firewood bags. Has anyone tried them and how well do the work and hold up. What size and whats the cost per unit, and where to buy.
Thanks.

Looks like the size most guys use is in the 20x30" size /give or take a bit. Prices range for .35 to .60 depending on where you buy them. I know TX grows a lot of onions so you should be able to find a supplier down your way. I think @unclemoustache is/was doing bags.

I used to deliver to Lewiston,ID and Walla Walla, WA weekly, and when in season I would pick up some Walla Walla Sweet Onions at the Farm Stands.
It didn’t take too long before I was getting orders from friends and Family for Fresh Walla Walla Sweets, it was cheaper to buy a 50# bag or two, then buy some 5, and 10# bags from the farmers, they would sell me the empty bags for 50 cents a bag, it was definitely worth the effort and expense compared to buying the onions packed in the smaller bags

The farmers were Happy to sell me the smaller bags at 50 cents, so I imagine that buying in bulk from the vendors would be less expensive, but that was a few years ago, I don’t know what the price would be today

Hard to beat bringing home Field Fresh Walla Walla Sweets, and mixing up some Pride of the West batter, for Home Made Onion Rings
