Santa inlaw got me a 511ax sharpener for christmas. My old sharpener can only change the vise angle. I know that the extra 10 degree head tilt angle is for chipper chains if I was told correctly. What head tilt and vise rotation angles work best or are recomended for chipper, rip and standard cutting chain. Any advice would be helpfull.

I have the exact same grinder and I have used it for about 5-years now sharpening about 400-chains per year. I cut about 10-cords of wood per year myself. The best angles I have found to work the best at a 25-degree cross angle and a 10-degree down angle and then keep your depth gauges at .025" below your cutters. I also go an extra step and use a digital caliper and make sure when switching over from sharpening left handed cutters to the right handed cutters I adjust it perfect so the teeth are about .003" of each other. Without making the adjustment from the left cutters to the right cutters it will grind the right handed cutters about .010"-.015" shorter than the left handed cutters.

Good luck and with the above information they will cut AMAZING.
