I have been having a real hard time obtaining certain models
of Oregon chain, my dist. salesman says it is due to the
blackout earlier this year. Anyone else having trouble?

Our shop uses mostly Stihl chain but I would think if the black out caused one brand a shortage it would be the same with others. We were back ordered a week or so on 325 but thats all.

Oregon Chain.

Any one know where I might get some .063" gauge, 7/16'' pitch Oregon chain. From what I can figure, I need 50.75" or 4.23 ft. of Oregon 62C chain. It has 58 drive links, the distance between the links is 7/8". Is there any of this chain available or is it still made? I am also looking for a guide bar for an old homelite saw. The bar number is: Homelite S/N 1C187753, any thoughts there? Thanks. Lewis.

Hey Lewis-

I don't think that chain has been in production since around 1967. That was the last time Any major saw manufacturer used it on an existing model line. You might try any of the older saw shops in Northern California for new old stock on the chain, a lot of them have pretty good backstock. You might also try Baughmann's saw shop in Wenatchee, Washington. Hollis Baughmann started cutting timber in the late 50's and probably still has a bunch of that stuff laying around.

For the bar, you might contact Homedelightman through this forum, he's the king of Homelight in these parts.

Thanks for the reply, Jacob J.

OK, thanks for the reply. I'll see what I can do to check out your information. Thanks, again. Lewis.
