With respect for the deceased of which I did not know, when old Bob's bucket broke and killed him, his nephew hung a wood boss Stihl off the clam at his funeral....... To this day, no one says that was disrespectful.

The owner of a paving company back home passed away and he was brought on the lowbed instead of a hearse.... id say thats goin out in style

I have mine out in the garage attic. Wife has it full of old knick knacks. If I get too fat when I get older they may have to grease me up to stuff me in it, certainly don't have to worry about growing up anymore, just out! LOL:dizzy:

No, Vern Berry was an old Ahspluhnd vet from back when Davey had it. He was a forman when my brother in law started back in 74'. I asked my bro in law if he knew those guys and thats all he would say about them. I always thought it was a funny quote. Coil's been dead for probably over 15 years now. He wasnt the brightest . He liked taking pieces too big and limb hitched a giant ash log (no pun intended) so big it snapped the rotted base and he rode the thing down. Thats not what killed him tho, in the end it was marlboro reds that did him in. I heard he fell when he was in is early 20's because he stored his climbing lines on top of car batteries in his trunk.

A very distant relative of mine died a number of years back. The old guy loved his tractor... so when they held the service for him, they did so by the tractor.

no I didn't, but I know a Vern an operator for Whitey's crane service, used to be a climber. Good guy from what I've seen. same guy?

Yes, Vern Lived next to "Old Bob" when he was a kid . Old Bob was a real xxxhole so vern came to work for us. Worked for us for years. One day , him and the old man got into it , I wont reveal why, unless asked, and he went to "the care of" . Spent 19 years there and left for obvious reasons. I wouldnt want to work for any co, and be the best guy there, and be paid the same as any jack leg who had started 5 years ago. P.S., Vern cost us more in work comp claims than any piece of eqipment ever did, and we had one of the first Bandit tree chippers, at a cost of $160,000.00 new in 1990. Ask him about when my dad told him not to take the cap off the radiator. Or, when he hacked the dudes arm with the saw. Or when we told the guys not to touch these trees cuz com ed would do them and he felt he was "above" ground work and deciced to do em any way and fried himself on the wire and somhow managed to not die , and made our work comp go higher than anyone one this sites ever seen. Yes , he got real good , after he cost us hundreds of thousands of bucks .
