Sold the 029. I was all set to buy a 55 Rancher to replace it when a friend lent me his 2152. I am now back to a tossup. Is the 2152 a better saw for the 35 or so bucks in difference? Thanks for any input!

Hi jetmecanic, I`d go for the 2152. Judging by it`s orange sister the 353, I`d say that it is a well built saw and should last you many years. It also has the modern convenience of the side chain adjuster. For $35 I`d go with the more modern saw.

jetmecanic,

357xp,considerably more power with a little more weight in comparison to a 353.If you ever need a larger bar ,it has a oiler tank(.80 volume)that will lube it.A more versatile saw, worth the extra beans.

And it will weigh less then your 290.

Thanks for the replies! I am going to check out a 357xp on Mon. to see if it might be what I want! Thanks again:D

Hey Jet, I`m sure you will love the 357, but it`s not a fair comparison. It`s not even in the same league as the 029 or 2152 as far as power and cost go. It is a fine saw, my Greffard 357 gets used more than my other sized saws right now, it will do it all.

Thanks for all the replies!! Bought the 2152, ran two tanks through it then opened up the muffler. Excellent saw at this point, blows away the 029 IMO. Thanks again!!
