how larger are most waterjackets on the odwb ? how often do you top your water off, i seem to add 3- 5 quarts of water a day although i just fired my unit up i want to check it 24/7 making sure that everything is working ok with the unit :givebeer: another question is what temp do you have your aqustat to turn your blower on and to turn it off.
my blower will run till it reaches 190 then kicks off till it drops down to 170 and then the blower will kick on again.
thanks

Mine is about 220 gal's and it seems to use about 10 gallons about every 2 weeks or so but what helps is putting a very lose cap on the vent pipe to let condsation to form on the cap and just drip back down.
I run it about 175 on to 185 off about 10 deg diff. Thats a good rule of thumb.

Mine is about 110 gallons and I add a very small amount of water every week, exactly how much I dont know as I have a fill line plumbed in the loop in the basement. I turn on a 1/2" fill valve and walk 10 steps to a window where I can see the overflow and its overflowing when I get there so what? maybe a quart? My system is set where it was preset at the factory. On at 160, off at 170. If you have a digital controller the presets are easily changable.

About 220 gallons of water and have not added anything in 2.5 years. What does that mean? Maybe it was overfilled when installed?

OWB water filling

We have a one year old CB OWB. Last year it tended to boil over as a result of a damper door that was off center, so it burned too hot with too much air. So I had to refill it a few times after a few boilovers. This year with a new damper mount it does not boil over any more and uses hardly any water. I have not had to refill it this year with water at all.

Aquastat setting

BYW: I have the aquastat set to 165 F. on our boiler here. That is the lowest setting that CB recommends. I use a low setting as we have a hydronic floor heating system and the floor temp after the HX and a mixing valve is only 100 degrees F. The other thing that it heats is a water heater and that stays pleanty hot at that temperature setting.

Woodmaster

I have been running mine over a month and I have not added any water. It has been running like a champ.
