Shutting down (again) for the year. It better not get cold again. Anyone know if you can get the water treatment any other place than a dealer? Maybe a pool supply store or hardware store. The closest dealers, both woodmaster and CB are at least an hour away.

I have never seen it for sale anywhere, but OWBs are rare in this state. I have an extra gallon from the dealer from last year when I replaced the contrller and damper door under warantee. He threw it for free because it boiled over. I plan to replace the water and inhibitor when I shut the boiler down this summer (after the 3rd year of use). Our CB dealer here is about an hour and a half away.

Went looking for that site but couldnt find it. I was all over it when I bought my woodmaster.

Even at 9 bucks for shipping, its a wash with gas prices.

Sodum nitrate......thats what you need for a Mild steel stove, 1000ppm.

its about 30 bucks a gallon.

Sodium nitrate? Is that what is in that stuff?

I use an acid demand test to determine if it has the right amount. Keep the electrons from corroding the steel. Works good. Also keeps the fins in the flat plate heat exchangers from filling up.

Though, it seems that you could charge the OWB with an electric DC current and keep it from corroding, like they do the bridges here on the coast on highway 101. Might be cheaper just to go with the anti-corrosion stuff though. I have to drain my system here next month and recharge it with new anti-corrosion stuff that I got from the dealer. It has been 3 heating seasons now.
